Infection Prevention Crystal Ball Initiative

A Global Infection Prevention Collaborative

“It is difficult to make predictions, especially about the future.”

Helping the future of infection prevention to emerge from the presence.

We started the Infection Prevention Crystal Ball Initiative In January 2019 in the context of the Swiss National Center of Infection Prevention’s (Swissnoso) strive to shape its future development on the idea of a vision.

To this end, we started an initiative to leverage insights from international infection prevention experts through several rounds of inquiry and exchange through a platform.

The first round took place in January-March 2019 as an online survey with 18 of 44 purposively selected international senior infection prevention experts. Four open core questions produced valuable insights in what the future could look like for infection prevention. These results will be presented at the IPIC 2021 conference in Geneva as a poster. A publication will follow. We will keep you informed.

The innovative method includes all participants as co-researchers and pursues an evolving mixed-methods approach.

A second round of inquiry is planned to be rolled out soon.
